Euro Pool System has taken over the pallet pooling specialist LPR (La Palette Rouge), based in Toulouse France. On 30 September 2011 Euro Pool System, AtriA Capital Partenaires and the LPR management closed and signed the purchase agreement. This acquisition provides Euro Pool System and LPR with enhanced capacity to grow in their core markets, providing returnable packaging and material handling solutions and related value-added reverse logistics services to the European retail market and to the fresh food and FMCG (fast moving consumer goods) customer base.

Leading FMCG manufacturer, PZ Cussons, has handed its pallet pool contract to leading European pallet pooler, LPR - La Palette Rouge. The contract will see all movements of well-loved beauty, household and hair care products, such as Imperial Leather, Original Source and Carex, transported in the UK on LPR’s distinctive red pallet.
LPR-La Palette Rouge achieved a turnover of 104.9 million Euros in 2010, an increase of 3% by value and 7% by volume.
For the 18th consecutive year since it was founded, Europe’s Number 2 pallet-pooling specialist posted a clear increase in its sales figures. Its consolidated turnover increased by more than 3%, reaching 104.9 million Euros (compared with 101.7 million Euros in 2009). The number of pallet deliveries was up by 7%, closing at almost 42 million.
La Palette Rouge (LPR) and dairy company Arla Foods Netherlands have extended their cooperation for sustainable development of the logistics chain. This customised approach has lead to a significant reduction of CO2 emissions during the last years. Arla Foods Netherlands is the first customer of LPR to receive 100% PEFC certified pallets from sustainably managed forests. PEFC stands for Programme for Endorsement of Forest Certification schemes.
LPR - La Palette Rouge, the European Number 2 pallet-pooling specialist, has chosen to migrate to IBM’s business collaboration suite, LotusLive. Next March, LPR will become one of the first companies in Europe to use this Cloud Computing system when about 220 LPR personnel in LPR headquarters in France and across Europe switch to LotusLive. LPR has chosen this innovative strategy to reinforce its customer service. IBM’s Cloud Computing solution offers collaborative services that are constantly available online (including email, file sharing, workflow management, diary, address book, instant messaging) from any desktop or portable device connected to the Internet.
Multy, the world’s market leader in cleaning cloths and sponges, has switched its pallet pool provision in the UK to LPR, in a move to reduce the complexity of administration. More than 200 different products will now go to retailers across the country on LPR’s distinctive, high quality red pallets.
LPR – La Palette Rouge and Contraload N.V. have reached an agreement to transfer Contraload’s rental pool of plastic 600x400 mm quarter display pallets to LPR. The pallet is manufactured by Schoeller Arca Systems, Europe’s leading manufacturer of plastic pallets and crates. On July 1st, LPR started providing the pooling service for this pallet to a pre-existing customer base of leading FMCG accounts in Belgium and Luxemburg. LPR plans to extend this service to other countries.
LPR, the European Number 2 pallet-pooling specialist, has again extended its European network with the opening of an Italian regional office in Landriano, near Milan with Fabio Benazzo as General Manager. The office has a start-up team of 5 people whose mission is to serve LPR Group’s core customers locally and to implement LPR’s pallet pooling solution in the Italian fast-moving consumer goods sector.
The Spanish subsidiary of LPR, Europe’s Number two pallet pooling specialist, exclusively serving the fast moving consumer goods (FMCG) sector, continues to grow. The renewal of its long-standing customer portfolio and the addition of new customers have boosted LPR’s market share in the Spanish retail sector to almost 20%.
In spite of a context of economic crisis, the turnover of LPR Group, the European pallet-pooling specialist, increased by 3% in 2009, attaining 101.7 million Euros.
