LPR – La Palette Rouge and Contraload N.V. have reached an agreement to transfer Contraload’s rental pool of plastic 600x400 mm quarter display pallets to LPR. The pallet is manufactured by Schoeller Arca Systems, Europe’s leading manufacturer of plastic pallets and crates. On July 1st, LPR started providing the pooling service for this pallet to a pre-existing customer base of leading FMCG accounts in Belgium and Luxemburg. LPR plans to extend this service to other countries.
LPR, the European Number 2 pallet-pooling specialist, has again extended its European network with the opening of an Italian regional office in Landriano, near Milan with Fabio Benazzo as General Manager. The office has a start-up team of 5 people whose mission is to serve LPR Group’s core customers locally and to implement LPR’s pallet pooling solution in the Italian fast-moving consumer goods sector.
The Spanish subsidiary of LPR, Europe’s Number two pallet pooling specialist, exclusively serving the fast moving consumer goods (FMCG) sector, continues to grow. The renewal of its long-standing customer portfolio and the addition of new customers have boosted LPR’s market share in the Spanish retail sector to almost 20%.
In spite of a context of economic crisis, the turnover of LPR Group, the European pallet-pooling specialist, increased by 3% in 2009, attaining 101.7 million Euros.
In April 2010, Logistic Packaging Return (LPR) will change its name to ’LPR - La Palette Rouge’. For the pallet-pooling specialist this goes beyond a mere change of direction in that it is a reaffirmation of its identity, based on its profession and the quality of its well-known product, the red pallet (la palette rouge).
LPR Benelux recently completed an ISO 9001 audit process and was awarded certification as part of an LPR group-wide effort to certify all local entities in Europe. LPR is the first pallet pooling company to comply with the strict ISO certification rules for both its head office and country branches.
Weetabix has awarded LPR its UK pallet management contract to deliver all key brands including Alpen, Ready Brek and Oatibix. As part of the contract, LPR will also run a pallet processing facility at Weetabix’s Burton Latimer site, helping to substantially reduce transport needs.
Heineken has shown its confidence in LPR Spain by awarding it the supply contract for more than 350,000 half-sized pallets (800x600) for the distribution of its full product range in the Spanish market.
François Gay (43 years old) has been appointed Deputy General Manager of LPR Group. The European Number 2 pallet-pooling specialist has created this new position to consolidate its development in the European market.
LPR, Europe’s number two pallet pooling operator, has signed a three year deal with cereals company, Kellogg’s in the U.K. Worth more than £7 million over the three years, this new contract will see LPR providing pallets at the company’s Trafford Park plant.
