LPR is fully committed to sustainable development.
It was the first company in the pallet-pooling sector to have been awarded PEFC certification (Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification). This European certification is recognised throughout the world, enabling LPR to guarantee that its customers are supplied with pallets that come from sustainably-managed forests.
LPR has reviewed all its internal processes and ensured that its network of service providers is PEFC compliant. A ‘chain of custody’ is implemented as of felling and through every stage of transformation right up to the finished product, to ensure that the PEFC rules are correctly applied.
LPR has been pursuing an overall strategy for several years now to reduce the impact of its activities on the environment.
The Group has also reconsidered its transport function, the second largest contributor to its carbon footprint after pallet production. LPR increasingly favours transport sharing and the setting up of pallet depots near to its customers or right on their sites, in order to minimise transport distances.
LPR involves its service providers and helps them to implement action plans to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by obtaining PEFC certification, investing in solar energy, using bio-fuels, choosing less energy-consuming means of transport etc.
The red pallets have a ‘green’ lining!
