LPR and Lahaye GL join forces

The European pallet-pooling specialist LPR-La Palette Rouge (a Division of Euro Pool Group) is continuing its policy of optimising its network of service centres by teaming up with the logistics company Lahaye-Global Logistics. On 15 March, LPR inaugurated the new automated line of its service centre in Grand Fougeray, south of Rennes, with its main customers from industry and the fast-moving consumer goods sector in attendance. This centre of more than 18,000 sq.m handles over 2.5 million pallets each year. The new automated line will manage far more.

For Patrick Lahaye, Chairman of the Lahaye Group, “This is an investment in the future. We are convinced that the pallet-leasing market is set to develop strongly in the years to come. We are therefore committed to building a long-term partnership with LPR by becoming its primary service provider in Western France. This is why we have also invested in a new building south of Poitiers that will open in early April, and at the beginning of the year our Carhaix site moved to facilitate the development of our activity on the western tip of Brittany.” Lahaye Global Logistics thus proposes a full pallet-leasing service to its customers at the three sites of its Lahaye Packaging subsidiary, involving collection, sorting, storage and delivery.

“A partnership with a haulage specialist as solid and reliable as the Lahaye Group is part of our strategy to deploy a network of service centres close to our customers, while relying on the specialised skills of our partners at the local level. With this new line, we make high quality pallets available to our customers, a requirement in view of the increasing automation of our customers’ business and the shortening of logistic circuits, in compliance with our environmental policy,” – Yves Degouve, LPR’s Director for Western Europe.

“Another objective is to provide our technicians with new, more ergonomic workstations, to improve their working conditions and reduce RSI. We share with Lahaye Global Logistics the conviction that quality is key in customer service, and we also have the same values in terms of CSR.”

This partnership will enable LPR to increase its storage capacity, improve the efficiency of its services and optimise supply chain flows in the region. By getting closer to its customers, LPR considerably reduces the logistic circuits and therefore its CO2 emissions, which is a fundamental aspect of the environmental commitments it has been pursuing for several years. This is an approach it shares with Lahaye GL, which follows a policy of continuous improvement to meet its commitments to reduce the impact of its activities on the environment: a fleet complying fully with Euro 6 emission standards and renewed every three years, training in environmentally-friendly driving for transport staff, optimisation of delivery circuits and consumption monitoring thanks to onboard computing, development of combined rail-road transport, the use of gas-powered trucks, etc.
