Salomé Lécuyer, Sustainability specialist at LPR division

“With more and more people focusing on sustainability, our teams are increasingly specialised. Step-by-step, we are building teams with employees who are committed to addressing sustainability as part of their daily work.” To further activate our sustainability strategy, we are therefore enhancing our internal communications and knowledge-sharing on sustainability. For example, we have launched the ‘Tour de France’ challenge, involving four trophies and rewarding the top performers in reducing our environmental impact. Winners will be identified each quarter, and the results and progress of the challenge will be shared on our internal communication platform.

The importance of teamwork when it comes to tackling difficult sustainability challenges cannot be underestimated. As energy prices hit all-time highs in 2022 because of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, it became clear that we needed to accelerate our energy-reduction plans. This required the full and undivided commitment and skills of all our employees. As a result, we have managed to quickly reduce our energy consumption in depots and storage facilities by means of an impressive company-wide collaboration.
